About Gulf Shores Alabama
Gulf Shores Alabama used to be a little-known Gulf Coast beach town but the secret it out! From humble beginnings, Gulf Shores first post office was opened in 1947. This was a result of the completion of the Intracoastal Waterway in ’37. Then, the grand opening of the Gulf State Park in ’39. Prior to then, this small fishing community was scarcely populated since the early 1800s. In 1956 the Town of Gulf Shores was officially incorporated. Since then the area has turned into a gorgeous resort community complete with tons of family friendly attractions and activities.

With bright sunny summers and warm winters, visit year-round, the weather is always favorable! December to April average highs range from 63°-77°, the summer months warm to 83°-90° perfect for beach bumming! Locals will that the best month are May/June & October/November when there is relief from humidity and heat.
