The Blue Marlin Grand Championship is proud to announce an exclusive live television partnership with Mobile, AL based Local 15 TV (NBC). The deal will bring nearly two hours of live coverage from The Wharf on Saturday, July 12. Local 15 TV will broadcast the weigh-ins live from 6:30pm until 8:00pm followed by a twenty minute live wrap up show from 10:10pm until 10:30pm. “Fishing is such an important part of our community that we wanted to be the ones to bring it to our viewers. When you see crowds of more than 10,000 people showing up at this tournament, you quickly realize how much of a spectator sport big game fishing is here on the Gulf Coast” said Robert Totsch, Sinclair Market Manager and Local 15 TV General Manager. Dubbed ‘The Greatest Show in Sportfishing’ the BMGC has already produced a television-like event for the huge crowds that have gathered at The Wharf for the first two years of the tournament. Huge video screens, sound and light systems, helicopter footage and a production crew have delivered all the action to those in attendance and worldwide via the internet. But this is different said Tournament Emcee and Host Jim Cox. “There is nothing like a high energy sporting event being broadcast live on television. Everyone will feel the extra energy during the show. The viewers at home, the crowd at The Wharf, and especially our tournament participants who will be watching on their boats as they make their way to the scales from one hundred miles offshore.” Broadcast time on Local 15 TV (NBC) will be: Saturday, July 12 6:30-8:00pm and 10:10-10:30pm
