Vacation rentals in Gulf Shores Alabama have been really strong for the 2011 summer. We were especially surprised to have been totally booked for the past 4 weekends. Surprised because last summer we had the BP oil on our beaches and never expected summer rentals to be this great. For the past few years we’ve only been totally booked on holidays and special events. We as property managers are elated and our property owners are especially pleased. We hope to continue this trend on into the fall season with advertising and specials.

We received a ton of emails and phone calls this summer looking for last minute weekend rentals and rental specials. Unfortunately for approximately 98 percent of them we had nothing for them because we only had a few properties available due to vacationers booking early. For those who we couldn’t help this summer, please try booking earlier in the year so you will have your choice of properties from which to book. Singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has announced a free concert next week to show his support for the Gulf Coast and to”demonstrate support for the people, businesses and culture of the Gulf Coast.”.

Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band will perform a free show on the beach at Gulf Shores on the Alabama coast on July 1.

Other performers slated to join the Margaritaville singer onstage so far include Allen Toussaint, the Zac Brown Band, Kenny Chesney, Sonny Landreth and Jesse Winchester.

CMT Presents Jimmy Buffett & Friends Live from the Gulf Coast will air on CMT on Thursday, July 1, from 8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
